No mouse cursor in Chrome Remote Desktop
4
Whenever I try to access Chrome Remote Desktop in full screen mode, the cursor vanishes. The resolution is too poor / choppy for me to use Remote Desktop not in full screen. I can't see what I'm doing. But when I go into full screen, my mouse disappears and I can't see where I'm clicking. Please help!

I was having this problem in regular Chrome, so I recently installed Beta, but still having the same issue. I'm running Win 10 Pro 64-bit on the client side and I'm remoting into a host computer running Win 10 Pro 64-bit as well.

List of possible solutions offered by the community so far:
  1. Disable Hardware Acceleration [credit:GalaxyWings 246]
  2. Disable Smooth Scaling [credit:Pepijn Van Essen]
  3. Plug a mouse into the host computer USB port [credit: Reddit user curdean]
I hope this helps your issue like it did for me!

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for your responses! This is my first time using Google Chrome Community Support, and I had no idea anyone had responded to my question. Thank you again!

I have been limping along with this issue for some time. This morning, I ran across a comment on this Reddit thread which suggests plugging a mouse input into the host computer [the one you are connecting to] in order to eliminate the disappearing cursor issue.

Up to this point, I was using the host computer for remote connections only, and I did not have a mouse or keyboard plugged in. I just plugged in a mouse, and viola, the issue is gone!

I really appreciate all the support, guys!

TL;DR Try physically plugging in a mouse on the host computer if you have been running the machine without one.

I've had a similar issue. Go to Settings > Advanced > Acccessability, and turn off or on your hardware acceleration. Then relanch Chrome. This fixes the issue for me, and it happens pretty much daily for me.

Alex's post above worked for me... Just move the small window and its good.

What worked for me is the solution from here:
//bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=473685

"When you log in to Chrome Remote Desktop, there is that notification bar that says "your desktop is being shared with..." on the screen. For me, it's always at the bottom when I start. If you move that notification bar up just a fraction, suddenly I'm able to see the mouse on the shared desktop. Just position your mouse pointer while you can see it below your shared screen, and you can guesstimate where the mouse is and move it onto the shared screen to move the notification bar."
