Close to 30% of adult internet users are signed up with Pinterest, and 83% of active users would prefer to follow a brand than a notable celebrity on the network.
For the uninitiated, Pinterest is a network that allows users to collect things online that inspire them by pinning them to boards kind of like digital versions of inspiration boards or noticeboards found in most homes and offices.
Each pin has a cover image, but can include blog posts and even videos.
Pinterest can be accessed easily from any device. On the instructional video posted below we demonstrate how to do this both on a desktop computer and also on the app on a mobile device, as the processes differ slightly.
How To Pin Or Add Video To Pinterest Via Desktop Computer
Step 1: Once you have logged into your Pinterest account, go to the bottom right of your screen, and click the Add icon
Step 2: Click Pin from a website and a little box will appear
Step 3: Copy and paste your videos link from your video provider, like Youtube, and click Next
Step 4: Choose the still image that will be pinned it usually generates a still image from each video
Step 5: Another box will appear; below the image, write a description. Try and include keywords that you think people would use when searching for content like this
Step 6: On the right of the box, choose the board you would like the video to be pinned to, and click Pin it
Step 7: A confirmation box will appear when your post has been pinned, click See it now to view your pin
How To Pin Or Add Video To Pinterest Via Mobile App
If you are accessing Pinterest via the app on a mobile device, this is how to upload your video.
Step 1: Once you have opened the Pinterest app, click the bottom right icon to go to your profile.
Step 2: Along the top toolbar, click the Add icon
Step 3: Click Web and type in your video provider site, such as Youtube or Vimeo. You will be taken to the site
Step 4: Search the site as normal to browse to the video you would like to share
Step 5: Click Pin it in the top right corner
Step 6: Choose the still image that will be pinned
Step 7: The title of the video on Youtube has been transferred over as your description, which you can click and edit
Step 8: Below the description, choose the board you would like the video to be pinned to; the post will automatically upload and a black banner will appear on your screen when it has been successful
