After the most recent episode titled The Avenging Angel premiered on the 11th,mediatraffic.orgreported a dip in The Blacklists viewership.
They revealed: The show received 2.922M views and a .29 demo. This is down from the last episode 3.093M and .34 demo.
Although it may be a small dip, this could affect the shows future on NBC, because the higher rating, the better chance a show has of surviving.
Season nine starting with a two-year time jump could be a factor, as many fans wanted to know how their favourite characters reacted to the shocking death.

The dip in viewing continues as the season progresses, the thrilling crime drama may not get renewed for a 10th instalment.
NBC have a history of axing shows which have seen a decline in viewership, this most notably happened with the supernatural series, Manifest.
After three seasons the network opted out of renewing the series, despite initially being sold with a six-season plan.

After its cancellation was announced fans took to Twitter and pleaded with other networks to pick up the fourth season, as it ended on a major cliffhanger.
Manifests creator Jeff Rake, also took to social media to campaign for the show to be renewed.
The hashtag #SaveManifest went viral and it proved to be a huge success as the series shot to Netflixs most-watched list and was eventually renewed by the network.
Hopefully, this wont be the fate of The Blacklist and its viewership will pick up as season nine continues.

Many fans are staying hooked to eventually find out the true identity of Raymond Red Reddington [played by James Spader].
Since his first appearance on-screen there had been an air of mystery around him, this was because he handed himself into the police despite being one of the most wanted fugitives.
He had agreed to give up a list of unknown criminals and terrorists for his criminal record to be wiped clean.
However, much to everyones suspicion he only agreed to cooperate with the FBI if he could only work with Elizabeth Liz Keen [Megan Boone].

Many fans believe Red is actually Lizs mother Katarina Rostova [Lotte Verbeek] who was supposed to be the female version of him, due to her extensive history as an intelligence officer.
As a child, Liz shot and killed her father, after an argument erupted when Katarina arrived to pick her up, there was also a mysterious fire.
Liz was sent to live with her adoptive parents, while her mother went into hiding, however, fans believe Katarina had extensive surgery to physically present as her ex, the real Raymond Reddington.
This would explain why Red was insistent on solely working with Liz in season one, hopefully, the viewing figures will spike and the show will unveil Reds true identity.
The Blacklist season nine, part two returns January 6 on NBC.
