Overall, L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick in shade Vin Exquis is a gorgeous plum purple color with slightly creamy finish. The pigmentation is great but needs 2 swipes for even coverage. It stays put for 3-4 hours and fades into a beautiful plum color stain. The metallic pink packaging is attractive and vibrant. These lipsticks are very comfortable to wear. But they do settle into fine lines. This makes a gorgeous shade for Fall and I already can’t stop wearing it enough. I am in love with this shade and will definitely repurchase this. These lipsticks are the most recent launches from the house of L’oreal. I see L’oreal foraying into the realm of “budget” makeup with this launch. And if you’re thinking to yourself, “Wait, isn’t L’oreal a drugstore [read : budget] makeup brand already?”, think again. Especially in the lipstick department.
L’oreal lipsticks usually retail for around the 900-1000 INR mark, which in no way would I refer to as “affordable”!
Which is why this is an unique launch for them!
The lipsticks in this range retail for 650 INR each.
With sales/deals/offers, you could score these for even as low as 450 INR!
That was one of the main reasons why I was excited try these out! I had always wanted to try L’oreal lipsticks, but kept getting put off by the unreasonably high prices!
Let’s get into the nitty-gritty’s with these lipsticks!
L’OREAL PARIS ROUGE MAGIQUE LIPSTICKS

This newly launched range from L’oreal containes Jojoba and Canina Oil for nourishment, honey for comfortable wear and pure matte pigments for intense colour!
PACKAGING
I am a sucker for pretty packaging and these lipsticks sucked me right in!
They come in really gorgeous packaging, in typical black and chrome pink Loreal “Magique” range packaging. [They follow the same color scheme with their Kajal Magique, Mat Magique foundation etc.]
The lipsticks come in a black matte bullet with a shiny chrome pink cap. Ah, the shiny goodness of this packaging! I am TOTALLY smitten by it!
The bullet has a notch into which the cap snugly fits in, ensuring that it will not come off.
There is a sticker at the bottom of the lipstick, which denotes the shade name and corresponds in colour to the lipstick shade.
As much as I love the super attractive packaging, I do have one gripe with it.
There is no way of distinguishing these lipstick from the outside of the packaging. You have to constantly flip them over to check which shade is it.
TEXTURE
I love the texture of these lipsticks! They have a creamy matte finish on the lips [the kind that is my favourite!]. They got on creamy and settle down to a semi-matte finish. They do not have any shine and gloss to them. They are very comfortable on the lips, and feel like you have nothing on!
APPLICATION
These lipsticks apply beautifully! Every single shade has excellent opacity. They go on very smoothly and are opaque in 2 swipes, at the most. Even though they are quite easy to apply, I do recommend that you exfoliate and moisturise your lips prior to application, for a flawless finish. The darker shades tend to stain your lips.
WEAR TIME
These are just traditional lipsticks and do not claim to be long lasting in any way. They last for about 4-5 hours on my lips if I am only drinking and not eating. If I eat, especially a heavy meal, they do wear off.
SHADE RANGE
These lipsticks come in 12 shades, ranging from neutrals, to bright pinks and reds, right upto deep wines and reds.
I have 7 shades from this range! Lets move on to the swatches then!
- “SECRET DATE”
This is mid tone mauve-y pink, which is great for everyday wear. Since this shade is fairly neutral, yet girly, I think it will be a hit with most people!

- “PINKY PROMESSE”
A bright, slightly cool toned pink, this is such a fun shade! This would suit almost all skin tones, however I would not recommend it to those with very dark skin.

- DIVINE MOCHA
One of my favourites from this range, this is a brown nude with distinct warm undertones. This shade will suit skin tones across the board. It will be a warm nude on those with medium-dark to dark skin tones and on this who have a lighter complexion, this will be a darker nude, which is very on-trend!

- “PEACH PERFECT”
The shade name on this one is a little misleading! This shade is a bright coral pink, with distinct peach-y undertones, but certainly not the “perfect” peach! Its a perfect shade for the brighter, warmer months and will brighten up your look instantly. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with very deep skin tone.

- “DAZZLING CRUSH”
A bright, warm orange-y red, this is perfect for you if you are uncomfortable wearing a straight up orange lipstick! The right amount of red in it make it flattering and wearable!

- “SCARLET DEJA VU”
This is a classic red shade. Not too warm, not too cool, its right in between! If you love a bold red lip, you will love this shade! It will suit all skin tones, from very fair to very deep!

- “VIN EXQUIS”
The shade name, which I am guessing is a fancy French way of saying “Exquisite Wine” is a perfect description of the shade! It is a rich purple wine shade. The colour straight up reminds me of black grapes! It looks very dark and intimidating in the tube, but goes on lighter on the lips. This is probably my favourite from this range!

If you have not tried any of these lipsticks yet, I would highly urge you to! However, I would definitely recommend you wait for an offer/ deal! These are great quality lipsticks, especially for their price!
