According to a sample of training professionals, the best practice strategies for transfer of training are the following:
1. Supervisory support and reinforcement. Recognize and reinforce the use of new knowledge and skills on the job.
2. Coaching and opportunities to practise. Provide time to practise skills immediately when returning from training.
3. Use of interactive activities to encourage participa- tion.
Collaborative activities, role plays, small group exercises.
4. Post-training evaluation of skills. Tracking and mea- suring transfer of training.
5. Making the content relevant to actual job duties. Activities that resemble work behaviours, challenges, and scenarios.
