YouTube music stops playing when iPhone locks

I usually listen to music from either pandora or from YouTube. When I listen to pandora music and lock my phone everything is fine and I can still listen to it and that used to be the case for when I would go on safari and YouTube and listen to music that way. Now whenever I look up a song on YouTube and try and listen to it while either doing other things or just locking my phone it turns off. Of course this used to happen also but now when I try and bring up my control center, it shows the title of the song and when I push play it disappears and when I lock my phone the screen shows the music icon with the title but when I push play it also disappears and shows me my wallpaper. I have tried resetting my phone by pushing the home and lock buttons for ten-fifteen seconds and I have also tried using my headphone play/pause thing and nothing works. I don't know why it stopped working but I just want to know how to fix it...

Update: for anyone else having this issue, I started using bing and went into the videos tab and it will let me play YouTube videos, from bing and let me open other apps and lock my phone. If you would prefer just using YouTube, you have to push the private button at the bottom left of your phones screen when safari is open[it will show up when you open your tabs or other windows], this will put you in incognito mode, go to YouTube, look up your video and simply press your home button. It will pause the music but you can pull up your control center and push play[allowing you to do other things on your phone while listening] or lock your phone, and then when you look back at the screen the pause play button will appear and you can press play and listen.
