I have agonized over trying to justify the purchase of the latest Sony WH-1000XM3 noise cancelling headset that goes for $450 and almost talked myself into splurging when I came across this pair. I purchased them completely expecting to return, and further justify the cost of more expensive set, but was happily surprised by the quality and the function for the fraction of the price. I am not saying that this set matches the sound and noise cancellation quality of the Sony pair, but depending on why one is looking for a noise cancelling headset, this one does enter the competition. I purchased these for travel and use while working outside with noisy tools like lawnmower etc. The sound quality and sound cancellation in this set are very decent, the function of the wireless connection is especially great because one does not need to worry about getting tangled in the wires (how i ruined my previous set). The function of the touch controls is very handy once you get a hang of these, and, last but note least, the quality of the microphone for the phone calls is excellent. In terms of comfort, they a bit heavier than Sony and not as comfortable. My husband finds them a bit too small to fit over the ear, but for me it is not an issue. I have not yet taken them on the trip, nor have I had a chance to listen to a wide range of music, but I am not a "sound connoisseur" and based on my experience so far, I like the quality. One thing I could not imagine is wearing them all day, for example in an open concept work space. If that was the case, I would certainly go for the fit and comfort of Sony or Bose. The bottom line - I am very happy with my purchase - it will do for travel and occasional use and does not break the bank - well done Anker :-)!

5.0 out of 5 stars Soundcore is a serious competitor as an emerging audio brand

I have been listening to these headphones since I received them and so far I'm glad I decided to get these instead of Sony's 1000XM2, H900N, the Sennheiser PXC 550 or Bose QC35 II. I know the Sony's and Senn's are more expensive and pack more features, but in essence, they're wireless headphones with good audio quality that, although certified as HiRES capable, can only shine when wired to the proper source and playing the proper filetype. And while Bose QC35 II has legendary active noise cancelling, their ANC technology creates a lot of pressure in my ear that gives me a headache within minutes of using them.

Most of us looking for wireless headphones are using our cell phones and tablets as media devices with content streaming services or stored media, with compressed audio formats that really won't take advantage of the more premium headphones. Unless you're using a dedicated high resolution media player along with high quality uncompressed audio formats, sound "quality" should not be a deciding factor to get the Soundcore Space NC or either of the high end rivals; if you already have a high end media player and high quality files, then by all means look for other options

Now, for those of us who are looking for a work/play/relax headphone that will work well with our devices and audio formats, this is the best offering in regards of value. Great sound quality, solid construction, great comfort and ease of use, priced just right.

Sound Quality: 5/5 Using Spotify and Amazon Music (both with the highest streaming quality) as primary music sources, the sound comes out clean and well defined. Bass is punchy, vocals sound clear as well as high notes. Whichever type of music you play will come out sounding really good. To achieve a better/more suited sound signature to your liking, use and equalizer.

Comfort: 5/5 Headband: Not to tight, noth to loose. Padding at the top is good enough to not cause discomfort. Earpads: They do get a little how while wearing outdoors or doing strenuous activities, but they don't press against the ears (or around them) as the padding is thick and soft.

Build: 5/5 Considering the price point, it's no surprise plastic is the main material used. However, it's sturdy, and doesn't feel flimsy at all. The pleather padding, both at the top of the headband as well as the earpads, is well stitched and very soft. Overall, I would say they feel sturdier than the Sony CH700.

Active Noise Cancelling: 5/5 Again, considering the price point the ANC is great. They tone down outside noise enough to let you enjoy what you're listening as if in a private booth. For the daily commute they work flawlessly; for airplane travel they do ok (I can fall asleep easily with ANC turned on and no music playing, but music volume has to be higher to drown the engine drone). The biggest plus for me is that the noise cancelling soundwave these headphones create don't put a lot of pressure in my ears, so no ANC-induced headache like the Bose's.

Touch Controls: 5/5 To me, touch controls are working just fine. They are not as responsive as the premium headphones (take a split second to react) but still they are really convenient and reliable. I guess many users are using them like a cellphone touchscreen, with quick flicks and gestures. Instead I would suggest they use them as ATM touch screens (long and firm press) to get a more consistent response. Using this method I haven't experienced any issues.

Now, receiving or making calls is a hit or miss depending on the noise around you. I would say it works as well as a wired mic, it certainly could be better but this is no deal breaker for me. So far people can hear me well on quiet settings, but when my office gets too crowded my voice gets lost in the background noise.

I will update as time goes on, since I expect this headphones to las quite a while. If you have any questions, or would like specific information, let me know, I'll be more than glad to help.
