Trong khi dòng card tầm trung và cao cấp thích hợp cho việc thiết kế kiến trúc, ứng dụng đồ họa 3D, biên tập video hoặc chơi các tựa game offline hạng nặng thì những mẫu card phổ thông nhắm tới việc chinh phục số đông người dùng do chi phí bỏ ra không quá lớn. Và điểm quan trọng là hiệu năng card vẫn chơi mượt các game MOBA hoặc eSport với chất lượng đồ họa chấp nhận được.

Về cơ bản, thiết kế GT 1030 dựa trên nhân đồ họa Pascal GP108 với tổng cộng 512 nhân CUDA, bộ nhớ đồ họa 2GB GDDR5 và giao tiếp 128 bit. Đặc biệt mức tiêu thụ năng lượng của GPU này cũng nằm trong giới hạn 75W nên có thể lấy nguồn trực tiếp qua khe PCI Express x16 trên bo mạch chủ mà không cần đường nguồn bổ sung. Điều này giúp các nhà sản xuất thu gọn kích thước card theo chuẩn low profile để phù hợp với các thùng máy mini HTPC nhỏ gọn.

Dự kiến GeForce GT 1030 sẽ chính thức ra mắt người dùng vào giữa tháng Năm tới, giá tham khảo 79 USD, tương đương Radeon RX 550 của AMD.

Một điều mà chúng ta khá là ngạc nhiên là Nvidia đã và đang ầm thầm phát hành card đồ họa tầm thấp cho dành cho các game online thời điểm hiện tại. Đó là GeForce GT 1030, đối thủ cạnh tranh cùng phân khúc với mẫu chip đồ họa Radeon RX 550 mới nhất của AMD.

GeForce GT 1030, phiên bản mới đặc biệt không có chữ X truyền thống (GTX), thay vào đó nó được gọi với tiền tố GT khá khác lạ kể từ dòng 700 series cho tới nay. Điều này có lý do bởi, GeForce GT 1030 sử dụng kiến trúc Pascal, một kiến trúc card đồ họa công suất thấp được Nvdia tin tưởng có thể đánh bại Radeon RX 550 của AMD.

Do nằm trong phân khúc chip đồ họa giá rẻ nên GeForce GT 1030 gần như không đem lại hy vọng cho những ai yêu thích hiệu suất ấn tượng.

GeForce GT 1030 có 384 lõi CUDA, bộ nhớ vRAM 2GB, tốc độ xung nhịp 1468MHz. Mẫu card đồ họa mới nhất này của Nvidia cũng hỗ trợ cổng DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b và DVI dual-link. Sản phẩm cũng tích hợp card dual-slot, có thêm tùy chọn single-slot giống các model của EVGA, Gigabyte hay Zotac.

Theo nhà sản xuất, bộ nguồn tối ưu sử dụng cho GeForce GT 1030 rơi vào khoảng 300W.

GeForce GT 1030 hỗ trợ hiệu quả cho số đông người dùng phổ thông khi chơi game thể thao, xem phim, hỗ trợ đa màn hình. Do không thuộc dòng GTX, nên mẫu card đồ họa này không hỗ trợ nhiều tính năng cao cấp như G-Sync, Ansel, GameStream, mặc dù vậy card vẫn hỗ trợ khá tốt với ứng dụng GeForce Experience.

Giá bán của GT 1030 dự kiến sẽ khoảng trên dưới 2 triêu một xíu. Về hiệu năng trong game thì có thể nói là kém GTX 1050 khoảng 20% và cạnh tranh trực tiếp với RX 550. Đương nhiên là với việc sở hữu GT1030 thì game online hoàn toàn có thể chiến được ở mức thiết lập cao nhất.
