Create & view Tasks in Calendar apps

You can create, view, and modify tasks in Google Calendar. This can be done from both computer and the mobile app.

Create a task

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. On the left, under My calendars, select Tasks.
  3. Choose an option:
    • In your calendar, click on an empty slot.
    • In the top left, click Add
      .
  4. Click Task.
  5. Enter a title and description.
  6. To add the new task to a specific task list, choose one from the drop down.
  7. Click Save.

View, edit, or delete tasks

View your tasks

Tasks you created are in the side panel inGoogle Calendar on the web and in the Tasks mobile app.

To find your tasks in Google Calendar:Go tothe date and time they're scheduled. On the left under My calendars, select Tasks.

Tasks from other Google products

Tasks you create in the Tasks app are on the right sidebar in:

  • Gmail
  • Google Drive
  • Docs
  • Sheets
  • Slides

Tasks created on the mobile appalso appearin Google Calendar.

Tip: To view tasks on Google Calendar, make sure you choose a date when you create the task.

Hide all tasks

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. In the left panel, under My calendars, uncheck the box next to "Tasks."
Tip: If you don't find the left panel, at the top left, click Main menu
.

Edit a task

Important: To viewTasks on Google Calendar, on the left, select Tasks.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the task you want to update.
  3. Click Edit task
    .
  4. Update any task details.
  5. Click Save.

Mark a task as complete

When you mark a task as complete, it stays on your calendar but is crossed out.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the task you want to update.
  3. On the bottom right, click Mark complete.

Delete a task

When you delete a task, it's removed completely from your calendar.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the task you want to update.
  3. Click Delete task
    .
